Kibuli S.S Claims Kampala Region Title Again, Triumphs Over Kawempe Muslim | 2024 USSSA Boys Football

In a display of unmatched skill and determination, Kibuli Secondary School once again emerged triumphant as they defended their boys’ football title in the fiercely competitive Kampala region.

The final match, held at their home ground, proved to be a captivating and closely contested affair, culminating in a thrilling post-match shoot-out that saw Kibuli come out on top with a narrow 7-6 victory over Kawempe Muslim Secondary School.

The game kicked off with an early lead for Kawempe Muslim, courtesy of a goal by Alvin Kitibwa in the opening half.

But Kibuli refused to be outdone and mounted a spirited comeback, equalizing the score in the subsequent half through the efforts of Alfred Ssebunya, who displayed remarkable skill and composure.

With the scores level at the end of regulation time, the match progressed into a high-stakes shoot-out, as the tension rose among players, coaches, and spectators alike.

In a display of nerves of steel, Kibuli held their nerve and emerged victorious, securing a hard-fought 7-6 triumph.

Meanwhile, in the battle for third place, Kakungulu Memorial Secondary School took on Uganda Martyrs Lubaga.

In a tightly contested match, Kakungulu Memorial Secondary School emerged triumphant with a 1-0 victory, thanks to the heroics of Jonathan Ebong, who scored a brace to secure victory for his team.

Shifting the focus to the girls’ final, it was Uganda Martyrs who claimed victory over Kawempe Muslim with a solitary goal.

Latifah Nakasi’s well-executed strike proved to be the decisive moment of the match, propelling Uganda Martyrs to a 1-0 win and igniting scenes of jubilation among their supporters.

In the battle for the bronze medal, Highland SS faced off against Gaddafi Integrated Secondary School.

In a fiercely contested match, Highland SS emerged as the victors with a 1-0 scoreline, thanks to a goal by Lydia Namaseruka, leaving Gaddafi Integrated Secondary School to settle for fourth place.

As a reward for their outstanding performances, Kibuli Secondary School, Uganda Martyrs, and Highland SS have earned the opportunity to represent the Kampala region in the highly anticipated 2024 USSSA finals.

Kibuli’s boys’ football team will proudly carry the region’s flag in Masaka, while the girls’ team from Uganda Martyrs will showcase their talent in Luweero.

Anticipation and excitement are running high as these schools aim to achieve further glory and make their mark on the national stage.
