Kaizer Chiefs Host SA Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba in Turkey

Her Excellency Ms. Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba, South Africa’s Ambassador to Turkiye, recently visited the Kaizer Chiefs in Istanbul, where the team is holding its pre-season training camp.

The Ambassador received a warm welcome from Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr., who expressed his gratitude for her visit. “We are honored to welcome Her Excellency to our training camp,” Motaung Jr. said.

“Her visit highlights the strong relations between South Africa and Turkiye, and we are grateful for her support.”

Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba expressed her delight in seeing the team training in Turkiye, a country she represents on a diplomatic level. She emphasized the enduring friendship between the two nations.

“I’m thrilled to see Kaizer Chiefs here in Turkiye, a country with which South Africa has a longstanding history of friendship and cooperation,” she said.

“This visit is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our ties and encourage cultural exchange.”The Chiefs have been in Turkiye for nearly two weeks, engaging in intensive training ahead of the upcoming season.

They also played a friendly match attended by Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba, showcasing the diplomatic and cultural significance of their visit.

This visit follows a recent courtesy call by Jessica Motaung, Marketing and Commercial Director, to the Turkish Ambassador to South Africa, Her Excellency Ms. Aysegul Kandas, in Pretoria.

The two ambassadors discussed strengthening bilateral relations, including cultural and sporting exchanges. “This visit is a perfect example of the strong bonds between our countries,” said Ambassador Letsatsi-Duba.

“We look forward to continuing our cooperation and promoting mutual understanding through sports and culture.”
