Kitara, Cranes Select Claim First Leg Wins

A pulsating encounter between Kitara FC and KCCA FC unfolded at the StarTimes Stadium, with Kitara emerging victorious thanks to a solitary strike from Denis Omedi.

The 1-0 scoreline gives Kitara a slender advantage heading into the decisive return leg on Wednesday, August 7th at the same venue.

The stakes are high, as the aggregate winner will secure a place in the semifinals, while the losing team will battle it out in the classification match.

In another captivating match, the Uganda Cranes Select team showcased their resilience to overturn a deficit and defeat Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa 2-1 at Lugogo.

Arnold Odong’s early goal for Villa was eclipsed by a controversial penalty awarded to the Select team. Isaac Ogwang made no mistake from the spot, and Godfrey Ssekibengo sealed the victory late in the game.

The two teams will reconvene on Wednesday at Lugogo for the return leg, with a semifinal berth on the line for the winner.
