Rotary Cancer Run: A Citywide Effort

The Rotary Cancer Run was a huge success this year! The event, with the theme “Spread Magic in Every Step,” managed to raise a whopping Shs. 4 billion to build two new bunkers at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya.

These bunkers will house state-of-the-art cancer treatment machines, bringing hope to countless patients in Uganda.

Over 50,000 people showed up to support the cause, from all corners of the country and even from other parts of the world. It was truly inspiring to see so many people come together to fight cancer.

Centenary Bank’s Managing Director, Rtn. Fabian Kasi, was really impressed by the turnout and the generosity of everyone involved. He thanked everyone for their support and encouraged other companies to join the fight.

The bank itself contributed a significant amount of money and had over 3,300 staff members participate in the run. It’s a great example of how businesses can make a real difference in their communities.

The Rotary Cancer Run has been going strong for 13 years now, and it’s amazing to see how much it has grown. Kasi urged everyone to prioritize their health and well-being, as it’s the best way to prevent cancer.
