Mbarara Metropolis FC have strengthened their squad forward of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season with the double signing of goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya from Vipers SC and central defender Vibrant Vuni from URA FC.
The Ankole Lions confirmed the arrivals on Friday, with each gamers penning contracts.
Ssekagya, who struggled for sport time at Kitende behind the Venoms’ established custodians, joins Mbarara Metropolis looking for common first-team soccer. The shot-stopper is thought for his reflexes and command of the realm and is anticipated to supply stiff competitors for the primary spot on the Ankole Lions.
Vuni, a commanding centre-back, makes the change from URA after falling down the pecking order on the Tax Collectors. The previous Arua Hill and UPDF defender brings much-needed expertise, aerial presence and management to a Mbarara backline.
The duo grow to be the newest additions for head coach Francis Mugerwa who’s rebuilding his aspect to enhance on final season’s performances and mount a push for a top-eight place within the expanded 18-team, 34-game format.
They may make their
debuts on Saturday when Mbarara Metropolis journey to face Police FC at Kira Police Area, Kamwokya of their opening fixture.
The duo joins different new recruits on the membership who’re Brian Aheebwa, Rogers Mugisha, Ivan Bogere, Eric Tumwine, Iran Musunguzi, Akoragye Hassan, Solomon Okwalinga and Mahad Rashid.
